Looking for something new to play on Steam? Luckily for you, there are four excellent games currently available to download and play for free for a limited time. Although you only have until February 2, so you’re likely not going to be able to check them all out. Such is life.
It’s been a decent start to the year for PC gamers, with a ton of new free Steam releases and some excellent indie titles that might have passed you by. The massive releases don’t start landing until a little bit later, though, which is why now is the perfect time to dive into one of these games.
Steam Gamers, Don’t Miss These Freebies
Not a bad mix

At the time of writing, you can get your hands on the following four games completely free of charge. Again, you can only do so until February 2, so clear your weekend plans.
- Dead By Daylight – The fantastic multiplayer horror is kicking off an extended free weekend, giving you a chance to get to know the unique charms of this spooky sim.
- Grounded 2 – Obisdian’s excellent and often-overlooked survival adventure is free to play for a limited time. It’s still in Early Access, but there’s plenty to love.
- Deep Rock Galactic – A brilliant sci-fi co-op FPS from 2020. If you’ve never checked this out, now is the perfect time to see why it has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam. Spoiler: it’s because it’s a very good game.
- Hotel Architect – Did the disappointingly sparse hotel decorating feature in the new Animal Crossing update leave you wanting more? Here’s an entire game dedicated to building hotels. It’s also currently 50 percent off if you like what you play during the free trial.
Steam Has Other Freebies
You don’t have forever
If none of the above aren’t for you, there are a bunch of other limited-time freebies available on Steam right now. Cursedland is to download and keep for the next few days, as is a strange game Kiki that’s gotten some pretty negative reviews.
Oh, and Fallout 76 is free for the next week on multiple platforms including Steam, so be sure to get in on that while you can.
