Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the highest-rated new game releases of 2023, and it’s managed to find itself back at the top of the Steam best-sellers chart a little over four months after it first launched. Baldur’s Gate 3 has been an incredible success, winning multiple Game of the Year awards and widely recognized as one of the absolute best games of 2023.
2023 has been a great year for new game releases, as a wide variety of titles have been released to widespread critical acclaim. Baldur’s Gate 3 may be leading the pack alongside The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but there really has been a dizzying number of incredible games released this year.

While it’s readily available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, much of Baldur’s Gate 3‘s success has come from Steam. Baldur’s Gate 3 was one of the most popular Steam games all year, amassing impressive concurrent player counts. A game that enjoyed similar concurrent player count success in 2023 is Hogwarts Legacy, which also finds itself back in the Steam’s top 10 best-selling games. However, it should be noted that Hogwarts Legacy‘s discount is much steeper than Baldur’s Gate 3, with those interested in the open world Harry Potter action RPG able to get it for a whopping 50% off for a limited time.
Considering how popular these games are, it will be interesting to see if they continue to dominate Steam’s top sellers chart in 2024. It’s a safe bet that Baldur’s Gate 3 and the other games listed will be regular fixtures for Steam’s top sellers chart in 2024, especially in the case of games that continue to receive big discounts, fresh updates, and new premium content.
